09 TW Sport w/ 18's Confirm

Well I finally took delivery on my second fit. I previously owned an 07 SSM Sport and now have an 09 TW Sport. Just wanted to confirm to all the non-believers that 18s do fit both models and look great. My 07 had 18x7.5 +42 Konig Next wheels in bronze running 215/35/18 and my current 09 just got fitted yesterday with 18x7.5 +42 Falken Hanabi (powder coated TW) running 225/40/18 Falken Ziex ZE912s with no issues. I can say +42 on 7.5 inch rim is the max I would go on the new generation though. Thought everyone would like to know!

They are originally Falken Hanabi in aluminum diamond cut finish form edgeracing.com(killer deal, like $80 a piece!), local shop color matched and powdercoated and cleared them to be different

Not bad but your tire selection size is a bit off for the fit....
You should have stick with the 215/35/18 or if you could find a 205/35/18 Toyo tire you would be Money!!

But the 225/40/18 is not the correct size ( to big of a tire compared to the stock 185/55/16 )

Anyways drop that thing!! it will look sick!!! At least I`m not the only one thats going to run 18`s

how many rpms will your fit be at @70mph running with 225/40/18?
its a MT right?

225/40/18------------ 225*.40= 90mm sidewall (3.54in)
215/35/18 ----------- 215*.35= 75.25mm sidewall (2.96in)
stock 185/55/16------ 185*.55= 101.75mm sidewall (4.01in)

c=pieD
225/40/18= 3.14*(18+7)= 78.5"
215/35/18 =3.14*(18+6)=75.36"
185/55/16=3.14*(16+8)=75.36"

so youve got ~3 more inches circumfrence on those tires 3/75.4= ~4% taller gearing?
is my math correct?

Yep I have the 224/40/18 at 78.75 circumferance... way to big on the fit!!... 205 or 215/35/18 is the way to go

I know 225/40/18 is a little large, but I ran 215/35/18 for over a year on my 07 and it beat me to death. 215/40 doesnt look as good on the rim as a 225 and it limits your tire selection.

those rims look hot. has your MPG doing? When I went from stock 16's to 20's on my other car I lost about 10mpg. Curious to see your new numbers on the Fit
