Nissan Sentra SE-R Spec V for same $?!
Ok, so I was looking at some car stuff and realized I could have purchased a new or practically new (8000 miles) 2008 Nissan Sentra SE-R Spec V for the exact same price as my 2009 Fit Sport! What do you guys/gals think. Should I feel ripped that I paid the same for my Fit? The trade off here is 25-33 MPG, 200hp, 6-speed manual transmission, moon roof, leather stitched seats, and steering wheel ect. in the Nissan. When I only get 118 hp and comparatively only marginally better gas milage with the Fit. Did I make a mistake?! Seems like alot of car for the money when you go with the Nissan!
Opinions?
PS Price is from CARMAX apparently they are offering $1500 rebate on the Nissans new

Well, you did get the piece of mind that comes from buying a new car. And, my personal experience with Nissan has made me never want to own one again.
So, sure the Nissan may have been a better deal, but you have a Fit, and it is a great little car. Much more versicle, IMO.

The Sentra Spec-V gets 21city/29highway which is actually pretty bad. The Fit gets at least 29 city, some people have seen up to 40+mpg with highway driving. The stats your looking at is for the base 2.0. The Fit is super fun to drive and of course you cant beat honda reliability. Plus dont forget the Sentra weighs 500 lbs. more than the Fit so it wont be as fast as you think. It will feel like a pig. Not to mention it looks like a pig... I rather have a 0 mile car than a 8000 mile car.

I'm not sure about the SE-R but before getting out Fit we consider few other cars that in the same class or price range.
But we ended up aiming for the Fit for their (Honda) reputation, cost of ownership and the excellent resale value.
Come on, be happy with your purchase..don't you love the new car smell?

What's the big deal. Popular as the '09 Fit is right now, sell it outright, buy your used Nissan, and be done with it.
Many Nissans are high horsepower, high "creature comfort" content, and super low reliability, especially the small stuff.
I can see the allure for "more", but sometimes less is more. Even with the price of nav/vsa, I feel my Fit is a bulletproof value both up-front, perhaps even more at the end of five years.
A word of caution, a car can be subjected to a world of hurt (including serious collision) in much fewer than 8,000 miles. Not knowing the history of a car can really screw you, been there, done that.

You have to ask yourself why you got the Fit.
Personally, I got the Fit for:
1) Fuel economy
2) Cargo carrying capacity
3) Looks
In these three categories, I believe the Fit is superior to the Sentra SE-R.
And, btw, the only Nissans I'd ever buy would be the Z (already have) and the GT-R (planning on) or the upcoming 370Z (undecided).
