Tonight, inspired by another thread about vanity plates I ordered this for my wife's TwidWater blue base '09 Fit:


And I ordered this for my '09 Orange Sport:


I was going to get FIT2BTYD (I'm a psych nurse) or TKZ12NO1 (because it takes one to know one is my response when people ask why I chose psych nursing). But, I really like the fact that my wife and I are opposites in a lot of ways, and she's the tenacious pit bull type on the outside, I'm just like that on the inside... don't let anything go, and she came up with FITBULL. Then on the other thread I saw FITHAPNS and liked that, but given the whole opposite thing and the play on words, and the reverse of her plate, and even further, I like Bullit and the fastback Steve McQueen drove, or the fact that the car is so unlike a bullet, besides the whole BULL$HIT thing... I think it's gonna look funny parked side by side in the driveway. It'll be the first vanity plate I've had.

Nice. What does a vanity plate cost in NY?

 

$43 initial, $25 fee per year. I am wondering if I should have done this. Maybe I'll call the DMV to see if I can cancel.

I thought it was cool enough that our dealer issued plates were a digit apart. Now I've gone off the deep end. But people have vanity plates on total junkers sometimes. We have a friend who's got one that says FREEDOMS... he got it after his divorce.

I guess if I find it's not worth it I can surrender them.
