I'd love to have a working exterior temp gauge.
Unfortunately to get this you also need the multi function display, which is not offered on USDM models.

You could always fit an aftermarket one.

yes, I see that several people tried an after market temp sensor..

I wonder how that worked out.

Check out the posts that pharmpk and I exchanged on page 2; using his location for the readout and my location for the sensor, it is working just fine.
With that readout location, I can even read it with polarized sunglasses.

If you can visually match the thermometer, it will have a long enough wire to reach to the grille. Mine came from Wally World.

Here's a 1st-person tale of why an exterior temp sensor is useful. We were driving south on I-85 through Virginia and North Carolina in December. At the start of the day, there was a light drizzle. Late in the afternoon, my wife tapped the brakes, and we did a 360 degree spin across 3 lanes of traffic, ending up on the shoulder pointing in the right direction. When my wife got out of the car, the ground was so slippery that she immediately fell on her butt. The temperature had been dropping slowly all day, but we had no idea that it had dropped below freezing.

Been there, done that, Selden. Good point.
Usually the outside temp is just for chits and grins, but sometimes it is vital that you know. Just be advised that ground temp and air temp ain't always the same thing...
The temp gauge IS one of those crappy little things Honda should have included.
