Detroit News reviews the 2009 Fit

Probably one of the more negative reviews of the GE:

I didn't take away anything overtly negative from the review. As with all reviewers, whether they're reviewing a movie, restaurant, or, in this instance, a car, there's unquestionably a bit of personal bias/preference baked in. And with all reviews, even extremely positive ones, there is always a short list of gripes, quips and complaints. I can't argue with his assessment that the Fit could use a few more ponies under hood, and the fact that the Fit's pricing is encroaching on compact cars (e.g. Civic) when fully equiped. In terms of his assessment about styling, we all know that that's something which is totally subjective -- personally, I think the Fit is a handsome little car. Overall, the writer gave the Fit 3 out of 4 stars, which I don't think is at all negative.

i agree with you. it wasn't overly negative, but most of the other reviews were super positive.

Wonder which model he drove. One glaring mistake is the 1.6 liter engine spec. And unless he drove the base model which is possible, the tires and wheels are 16" and not 15".

Picky I know, but if you're an auto writer, at least get the engine size correct.

Subjective.

This IS a subcompact. When you compare the Fit with its competition, it isn't hard to see why they're selling so well.
