09 Fit Window Tint Thread
#82
Personally, I use a product called "Invisible glass". It works equally well on the exterior as well as the interior. One can has lasted me for more than a year and it is the only thing I use on the car glass at all. If the tint shop said use "soap and water" I would ask them if the aftermarket "safe for tint" would be okay.
There are several formulations of Windex and I suppose it may be possible that one of these is compatible with tinted windows. I am also on the Toyota forums and there was a similar thread about this subject and several others complained of "milkyness" after using Windex. The consensus there was not to use it.

here's a little 'recipe':
"2 cups of water, 1/4 cup of
white distilled vinegar, and up to 1/2 teaspoon of liquid soap or
detergent in a spray bottle"

My bottle of Windex (original formula) says "Ammonia-D" on it. This is the best for outside, but not on the tint. Some brands of tint (like the 3M I chose) specifically say that they're safe with ammonia, so it must've been an issue at one time, and may still be with some brands. I'm playing it safe and keeping the Windex outside.

Wow. When your photo was loading I thought at first it was a non-factory color since it looks so brick red. Interesting shot! And I think MR is one of the hottest colors for the 09s.
