video of the cool skyroof that the U.S. does not get

Without the ability to actually open, the skyroof is a big nothing, imho. The only good thing that I see out of it is that it should mean that an aftermarket sunroof like the ones that have been done on the first gens should be no problem.

That piece of glass must weigh a ton and has a motor for the shade, too!
Talking about green house effect! And it is useless unless it is used at night, because you will need an additional, portable A/C unit in the hatch area to keep you cool!
I'll spend my money on this brand:
2008 Honda Fit with Hollandia TVS 940
They even have dual pane, length of the roof moon roof like Mini Cooper if you do not mind the weight.
And while I am doing that I might just as well spend some more $$$$ on this Webasto Seat Comfort and have seats and door panels reupholstered in material and colors of my choice!
If you guys care to check it out in person dealers are all over the place:

Likewise. But I plan on being even more bitter if they offer the Sky Roof option in 2011. Or maybe I'd just take the hit and trade in a two year old car. That's how much I want that option.

While I personally wouldn't opt for the skyroof, I would like to see it as an option on the USDM Fit -- at the very least, Honda should offer a factory power sunroof. As a side note, since the Fit already has incredible views from the interior, I can only imagine that with the skyroof you'd feel like you're in a fish bowl. Since Honda likes to keep things simple in terms of production variants, combined with the fact that the Fit shouldn't encroach upon the Civic in terms of price, I can't imagine Honda offering some of the options on the JDM Fit anytime soon. That said, I'd like to see other options make their way to the US, including 4-wheel discs, driver's seat height adjuster, etc. I can't complain though, because dollar for dollar, the Fit is one smart package.

The lack of a factory sunroof option is almost a deal breaker for me. However, if the 09 is as wonderful as the Edmunds review suggests for tall drivers (I'm 6'3") and more fun to drive than the 1st gen, I can probably overlook it. The skyroof looks cool, but ultimately isn't a substitute for a proper sunroof.
Anybody else get a chuckle out of the video narration? I don't speak Japanese (except for what I learned watching Shogun back in the 80s.)

I was very surprised Honda didn't offer something like this:

It seems that it would be much cheaper to manufacture than a glass roof. I saw a review of the C4 Picasso on Fifth Gear with this roof, and it seems to work very well.

I just posted the link to the video so everyone could see how the sunshade operated. Not having available in the U.S. will not keep me from buying one but it would be nice to either have it or a regular moon roof option. Fortunately I have a convertible when I want some open air driving.

Yes! I would totally buy that too.
