Fabric Protectant?

Has anyone used Scotchguard or anything else to protect their seats? Does it change the texture of the upholstery, or is there a risk of damaging it? Is it worth using? I've never really had an issue with spills in the car, it's usually just crumbs for me.

303!

The 303 protectant line is about as sound technically as you can get. Their fabric protectant far exceeds the performance of scotchguard. If you read the instructions scotchguard instructs reapplication several times yearly. That can get pretty pricey. I've actually had spills literally hover (surface tension I guess) over my carpet. Anyway check out the 303 product line. Their plastic protectant is exceptional as well and isn't messy or shiny.

I plan on doing the seat with the 303 High Tech Fabric Guard when I get a chance. I use it on all my outdoor jackets, hiking boots/shoes, umbrellas, backpacks, etc.

I used scotchgaurd on my fit. Didn't change anything. It advertises that it sdoesnt change the feel/characteristics.
I can't vouch for the new fabric in terms of colorfastness, but the old fit is fine.

merchants

I forgot to mention that getting 303 products can be an issue.

Amazon.com: 303 High Tech Fabric Guard, 32 oz.: Sports & Outdoors

We Are Car Care -- Car Wax, Car Polish, Auto Detailing Supplies, Car Buffers & Car Accessories Store

Also 303's site has a find a store function. You're not getting it at Walmart but that goes for most fine merchandise.

We've used on dozens of cars with excellent results. Owners have cleaned up after miklkshakes, baby waste, and vomit with no aftereffects. I'm not sure you can still buy it tho. Haven't seen it in awhile.

They sold Scotchguard in Wal-Mart as of two days ago when I picked some up.
