Anyone have a picture of the 2008 side by side with the 2009?
I have a 2008 Fit. I'm considering getting a 2009.The thing is that I don't know if the longer nose makes that much of a difference. Does anyone have a pic of the two together?

haters
It's kind of ironic with all the 09 haters that this hasn't come up. It'd be nice if some open minded person would photograph each, side by side, from different angles in different lights etc. I'm still sticking with "each has their positive attributes" theory. I have a GD3 and love it but sometimes, time moves on.

Photos will not suffice in this instance, bacause the '09 front clip looks more balanced on the vehicle than in any photo, I've found.
Perhaps it's not the sleekest part of the overall design (I own an '09 but always liked the '07-'08 front end, grille, and side mirrors), but overall, it's not too bad considering the overall geometry of the '09 makes it over four inches longer to begin with.
If you have access to an '09 in person, and you view it with an open mind, you might find it acceptable. Hell, own it a while, and you might even get to like it.
Most people look at the hood and headlight area of the '09 and immediately assume it has no crashworthiness. Were it not for ACE and the increased torsional rigidity of this vehicle, they would be right, and hopefully they are not.

Interesting - the side-on pics in the MT article show, to me at least, that the '08 has about the same big-nose "problem" as the '09. Looks like the photos weren't taken from the same distance though.
But to all the 09 haters who say, oooooh, platypus.... I say compare the pics. They both have that nose.
In person, both of them look great.

The 09 looks shiner in those pictures! Is this some kind of marketing ploy to make the 09 look newer than the 08? I think they both look good, but I like the fact the 07/08 is 4" shorter, leaves me more room in my garage!

I was worried that my new car AND my bike wouldn't fit into the garage (which is single-car), but thank ye gods! they both do. I can put them in , either with the bike up front, or behind that Fit.

I'd go GD3 anyday. it just looks cleaner the 08-09's look bulky and the chrome headlights look cheap IMO. the new fit from the front grill down looks almost exactly like fod Focus, and rest of the body is a Yaris. it's Foryoda Yarcus

What it bulls down to is the fact the 09 is just overall more aerodynamic. Long ago when the new model first came out in Japan I got pictures of it and I'm like Oh my God I will never ever get one of those they are so hideous but low and behold I now own one and think they look 10x better than the 08s. The nose isn't noticeable at all and you have amazing visibility from inside the cabin.

only side by side pic i have from when i went to the dealership to check them out:
i kept getting comments from people on the lot looking for cars about how much nicer my car is compared to the new fit.. lol. i'm not really sure what other car i would have gotten if i waited a few more months, i might not have been interested in the 09

I'm still not sure. I just think that the nose may not look as long because the windshield is stretched out. I also like the look of the corner windows. They add to the cars unique appeal. Either way I want to do a JDM front end conversion.
