Finally got my fit today. So excited... that I let my boyfriend drove me all the way home! Boy I enjoy being a lazy passenger while listening to my bf praising the little Fit that could. Yay! It's like having a limo and a driver all in one price!
My new baby is coppertoned. it's less orange than I think, but I have no regret. I do wish it's more orangey and less browny, but I am just being picky. Actually real bright saturated orange is rather hideous looking (the halloween orange), the Fit's color is a lot more pleasing to the eye. The shape of the new Fit is as cute as my kitty, and I am surprised how nice the interior is. I test drove a base and was kind of disappointed by its interior fit and finish, but the sport model is a lot better. The only thing I don't like is the sun visor totally useless for blocking the sun from the sides. Tomorrow I am going to order the cargo cover and all-season mat and maybe the cargo mat too. The dealer included some striped decor on the car (didn't charge me for it) but it looks easily removable and I couldn't care less. Overall I am very happy with the car. Love it inside and out and can't wait to go to the mountains w/ it.
After lurking here for months I am finally a real Fitter! I will take some pix tomorrow. Meow!

Congratulations to cvkungfu and Surviver! Please post photos of your new Fits = we love to admire them along with you!
And Surviver - your car can be much brighter in the sunlight - it's a golden yellow-y orange when the sun is directly on it. A very classy, pretty orange color, not pumpkin or Halloween orange.

Just wondering, because it seems that most people are reporting buying the Sport, are the base cars hard to find (I seem to see fewer base Fits and more Fit Sports of the previous generation on the road also), or is it just that the demographic of this forum skews to the Sport?

I just got an '08 NHBP Base AT with 1800 mi. a few days ago . I probably would have preferred a Sport, and maybe not black...but I bought it from a relative, and I got an extremely good deal. With the money I saved, I'll have fun upgrading it.

After placing the order in July, my 09 BSP AT Fit w/Nav arrived today and is parked in the garage! I am so excited to spend time getting to know all the features of this creature! Drove home in the dark so brights and dims are about all I know at this point.
I do have one quick question....I was walking around looking at it in my garage, and does this vehicle have window washing capabilities? I couldn't see a place for the fluid to spray.
One other thing....if they are only allocating 85,000 for the states there really is apt to be a shortage.....my VIN indicates that my vehicle was 13,000 + off the line and my build date was Sept. 15.

bought the dark silver sport 2009 4 days ago. had 2 miles on it! So hard to get one, this is the only stick sport one they had and I had to pick it up early in the morning when the truck was delivering it... love it

My VIN number's last 5 digits are similar to yours so ours came in the same shipment from Japan (got mine 2 days ago). I read an earlier post on VIN number and it seems that the serial number may not represent the actual number of Fits being produced. For example, the automatics may start thousands after a manual. I doubt Honda has already made 13000+ Fits for the US this year. However if the number indicating total numbers of 09 Fits out of the same factory for world-wide shipment, maybe. I am just guessing though.

Just picked up our new 09 Fit Sport Auto Crystal Black Pearl on 10/11- Not one complaints so far, have tinted the windows and looking to do some other mods. Will take some decent pics this weekend, however here is one of the first at her new home here in Lexington, Kentucky. Will check the VIN when i get home from work for the build date and number.
