I got the Silver MT Fit Sport today! Cash for Clunkers on my old Jeep. Couldn't bear the thought of someone else getting to drive it
The savings in gas alone pays a rather large chunk of my overall monthly payment, cha-ching!
Anyone out there have some ideas/pics/words of wisdom as far as roof racks...I'd love to hear about it, so PM me (so this thread doesnt get hijacked) or point me in the right direction. Much thanks!

It's that BREAK you needed to get you into the new car, which makes all the difference in the world. It's a fresh start for you with a good, dependable, reliable, fun car that won't be like a leech sucking the dollars out of your bank account.
It's not just the gas, but repair costs too. You'll save there.
Just an example here for everyone. What if you took that new car and covered it up for 20 years? Taking whatever precautions are necessary so things to rot or deteriorate.
You'd still have a "new car" for the most part, right? No nicks or dings or sun-bleached seats.
All that stuff will happen over time, and the more you use it, the faster it happens.
One of the criticisms of the CARS program was that people who bought a more efficient vehicle may be more likely to drive more. Thereby offsetting any gains in pollution, and gas use, reduction.
You do need to drive it a bit, to get used to it. How it steers, accelerates, brakes. How the parts work, like those nifty magic seats.
Everyone has a choice. They can have a "like new" car that is 2 months old, 2 years old, or 20 years old. Depending on how they treat their car and what they NEED their car to do.
Let me ask this of the people that check this thread...
Do you think your warranty will run out in time or distance first?
For me, the TIME will expire long before the distance. I drive maybe 2-3,000 miles a year max. I've had my car since Dec. 19th, it came with 69 miles on it, and I had to drive about 30-40 miles to get it home. I now have a bit over 1,200 miles on it.
Eight months = 1,200 miles.
Can I have had my car that long? Seems like yesterday...

Picked up my '09 AT RED Sport with navigation yesterday. Added the color screen Parrot MKi9200 and XM Express RC. Looks SWEET! The XM is mounted on the left down next to the stability switch and the Parrot screen in between the Aux port and 12v power plug. Feels like a damn jet cockpit now. Pictures soon. Oh and Honda paid for the Parrot!!

I brought home my 09 Manual Milano Red Base Fit a couple days ago. I love it more and more every time I drive it. I got almost $500 under MSRP, and I clunkered my 98 Plymouth Voyager that I paid $600 for 2 years ago.
So, I fell like I got a great deal. I absolutely love my Fit.

Hey-yo!
Just signed the contracts for the a 09 Tidewater Blue Sport about 3 hours ago. Clunkered the 99 Passport.
Can't pick it up from the dealer til Monday though. They have to put on the armrest and the paint protection!

My daughter was rear-ended at a stoplight yesterday. The car is only 3 weeks old, and doesn't even have its permanent plate yet. No visible damage, but since she was hit hard enough to snap her neck back against the headrest, I told her to be sure to take it to the dealer for an evaluation. Driver behind her was taking a kid to a doctor's appointment, and dollars to dimes, she was yakking on a cell phone, oblivious of her surroundings.
As a motorcyclist, I dread redlights, and always check my mirrors if a light turns yellow, to decide whether to make a quick stop or run the light and avoid getting run over. Similarly, when the light changes from red to green, I wait and scan left and right before starting up. I am all for automated stop light cameras (with long duration yellow) -- far too many people run lights.

Bought an '09 Fit with Navi. Red. I bought it because my son and I race bicycles from Georgia to Miami (we live in Orlando) and I needed a car that I could put two bikes in back and enough gear for the weekend - and get great mileage. SCORE! Drove from Orlando to Jacksonville this weekend. Casey won all his Junior bike races AND we got almost 44 mpg!

New Fit Owner
Hey everyone,
Just purchased an orange '09 Sport (no navigation) on Thursday thanks to Cash for Clunkers. I was able to get a price of $17,150 (with destination) without mentioning the clunker until I arrived with the check and the clunker. I'm really enjoying it so far.

Bought our '09 on "Cash for Clunkers" deal - 7 August. (Traded a '99 Mercury Grand Marquis, "just about broken-in" with 90K! A shame to send it to the crusher but I got 2X what it was worth in trade on the Fit!) Very pleased with Fit so far - this Forum is great!
