09 Fit speaker install question
Ok, so i went to put in some new speakers I have lying around the garage. the Fit has the same size speaker. So i take the door panel off and to my suprise
The 2009 fits speaker, is the speaker frame and the mounting device built into the speaker. So when you remove the mounting device (Speaker) you get nothing to put another speaker into except one hole a the top and a metal door frame....
Let me know if this is how it works on the previous fits. And what can i do to remedy this.

this is the exact same thing with the 2007-08 fits. The speaker and bracket are built into each other. You have 2 options:
Buy spacers that are made for the fit either from crutchfield.com or ebay. However u will have to drill 4 new holes to mount it which i know u don't want to.
Second option is what i did for my 2007. I took my dremel and cut out the factory speaker at the little "legs" that holds the magnet of the speaker together. I then cut out the terminal and soldered those onto the new speakers. I then took the speakers and lined it up to the stock bracket and just put 4 screws in every corner. I then just took the speaker bracket and clipped that back into the car, no new screws to drill and fits like oem.
If u don't get what i'm talking about, here is a little writeup of someone doing the same option i did.

This is the better option. Yes u will have to ruin ur oem speakers but honestly, when u sell the car are u going to go and remove all the speakers? nawww lol.

just installed mine in the factory today. Make sure to get one that is has a low profile in the front. The door where the speaker is has an inwards curve and runs into my tweeter on the speaker.
I took the speaker out of my s2000 which is a 6.5 i do believe

Here is a same of what you might need to install a set of aftermarket speakers

The upper one is made from HDF and has some sort of sound deadening spray over it, and the Pioneer on is made of a very high quality plywood that is laminated... ALPINE also makes one similar to the Pioneer one...
I have heard of a few shops in So-Cal that have orderd the Pioneer ones before... ( I forgot the name...)
PM me for more info..if you want.

JDM,
With those brackets is there is no need to modify the ones that come with car? Are those for the front and back speakers? How do they fasten to the car? On the pictures that I have seen it looks like the existing bracket just snaps in to place. Do you just screw into the medal with self tapping screws?
Thanks!

so just to get this straight, the fronts and the backs need this bracket/trim ring piece to fit? also, how big of a difference is the sound, i was gonna hold off on doing a sub if there's a pretty good difference, i'm the one that has the avic f90bt in the 09

2009 Honda Fit speaker
I am planning to put Boston Acoustics Pro60 - Boston Acoustics Pro 6.5" 2-Way Component Speakers to replace the front speaker and use Boston Acoustics SL 65 on the rear. I am using the Facotry Stereo Navi. Would both of these speaker fit?
