myhondawarranty.com offers no deduct for $890. Your dealer probably made $275. Is that OK with you? At least you can reach out and 'touch' someone if you get mishandled. That can be worth a lot to many.

When buying our Fit, my wife and I explained the only warranties we were interested in were HondaCare warranties. We used the information from the Saccucci website to negotiate a price $100 over Saccucci's price. (The finance guy explained the Saccucci price is the actual cost for the warranty that he verified by showing us his cost sheet for the HondaCare warranty--every amount was identical between the cost sheet and Saccucci price).
My advice to anyone considering an extended warranty is to print off the prices available online and use it as a bargaining tool when buying your car. It made negotiating warranty price quick and (relatively) painless.

Yes, the $890 is the cost, but they also bet a certain amount of money kicked back to them, thus the reason a lot of dealers are selling them online. Even if they sell them at cost, they still make a good buck on the kickback.

For an 8 year, 120K mile with $0 deductable, I paid $905 when I bought mine about 2 years ago.

So is $890 for an 8/120K warranty worth it?

Are we expecting the fit to break or have problems before then?

Just trying to justify if I should buy one or spend the money on accessories.

this is the way i see it as well. i buy Hondas because they last forever.
when they ask me why i dont want the extended warranty i just tell them because its a Honda.

my two cents...

if you want the warranty buy it and don't ask questions- should I or not...

why buy life insurance... fire insurance...why buy any insurance... you may never need it... but you might...

Honda dealerships have mechanics for a reason, and it isn't only to do maintenance work. Yes, they are dependable, but they are also machines, and machines break.

Excellent, machines break, Hondas less than most that's why we bought one. A lot of fit freaks "gotter all figgered out". I paid $890 for the 8yr/120K/0$ded hondacare warranty from Bernardi. Did I get screwed? quite possibly, if it doesn't break! By the way the warranty is transferable, once. I view a Honda as a marketable commodity and that warranty is part of it. I've owned many cars and worked in a machine shop for years. I'm skeptical of all machines since they do indeed break. A lot of factors should govern your choice. Will you own the vehicle for 100K? Do you drive it hard? Do you want roadside assistance or other perks that come with Hondacare? Is your love for and faith in Honda that strong? Mine's not! Machines break period! Your faith in machines and this Honda one in particular is all that matters. decide for yourself.

Did you try 'myhondawarranty' on east coast. If they don't sell to CA that would be news because they sell the 'official' honda warranty for least cost I know of, eg 8 yr 120k miles no deduct for $900 or so.
Its more detailed in another post here.

This is probably a silly question, but can you buy an extended warranty at any time, or doe sit have to be within X day of purchase? Thanks!

My dealer offers a full refund on the extended warranty if no claim is made against it during the period of the extended warranty. Nice.

On most extended warranties there is open enrollment til you get way up there in mileage. A dealer may have limits but not likely in order to accept used car sales.

Yes, it's written up when you opt for the extended warranty. I believe they're the only dealer in the province that offers this. My fit will only see about 3,000 km per year so I didn't go for it.
