OTD Prices for 09 Fits...

Cranky18 and I should probably have gone to each other's dealers due to proximity. I went to John Eagle in Dallas about 2 months ago and put an inquiry into Lute Riley in Richardson a couple weeks ago. Neither had info at the time, but Eagle wanted me to put $500 non-refundable down and commit to $18k + TTL and Riley hasn't gotten back to me after our initial exchange. A friend recommended Red River Honda in Dennison, TX, specifically the fleet manager, Bob Dunn. I was told he was a straight forward guy and so far he seems to be. We've only talked on the phone but he seems like a good guy. He gave me the MSRP price without asking, and came out and said they don't do market adjustments or add accessory packages. Since this jives with the experience my friend had, I expect Bob will follow through.

My wife and I drove over to Miss [100 miles] today and got her a 09 silver sports AT.
$17969.51 OTD. Paid Ala sale tax, low, low here. I have bought a lot of new Hondas from this dealer so it was painless. In and out in no time. I paid cash but all it saved me was a few fees that people have to pay who finance.

This whole thread brings about a good question. Why do we even need car salesman? (hope I don't offend anyone) You can get all of the information you need online. Both times I bought my Honda's, I knew more about the features and pricing than they did. I spent months looking at different cars and doing research before I bought my first Fit. On another forum that I was on, a salesman called us "tire kickers" with disdain. We do the research and they get the money?

OTD Prices for 09 Fits...
While I am still in the market to purchase one, I have found what appears to me at least, to be a great leasing company. I have never leased before so any opinions regarding this Honda Lease would be much appreciated........cheers

For the Dallas, TX area guys, I would avoid Lute Riley if you're looking for MSRP or better. They won't deal, and will waste HOURS of your life trying to sell you crap that you can order online for 1/3 the cost. I ended up paying $100 over MSRP to get the car I wanted because they had it without any add-on crap, but almost passed because they jacked with the price that my credit union said they would pay. What a PITA.
