OEM Oil Filter: Honeywell or Mahle Tennex?
I had been using the Filtechs until they became unavailable. Then, my last batch of oil filters was (I think) Honeywell. I found one reference on the forum to the Mahle Tennex filter in this thread at post #15.
The Mahle Tennex is looking interesting to me. Does any body have any feedback on them? Also need someone to confirm that the Manlike Tennex will fit a 2013 Fit. The image below says it will, but when I hit the "Filter Results" button at the top, it deletes the Mahle Tennex and just shows the Honeywell.
Thanks.

All three filters listed there will work with the GE8 (and other US/Canada spec Fits).
The "A01"s which are scarce, great quality and possibly discontinued is a Filtech(Wix) filter. If you find a case, jump on it.
"A02"s are Honeywell/Fram filters with a fairly disappointing cardboard drain back system compared to the A01's metal system from what I've seen. These tend to clog up fairly commonly at work and because of that will NOT use them on either any of my Fits or CR-Z (just out of personal preference).
"RTA" is a newer filter Honda made available a few years ago. Its construction and quality is MUCH better than the A02 upon visual inspection without cutting open one and its the closet option we have to the "A01" currently excluding the green HAMP oil filter. Part number H1540-RTA-505 and it is a Filtech filter as well...
As I type this, I'm beginning to wonder if the Honda RTA is a rebranded HAMP Synergy filter. Will later investigate when I do an oil change on my CR-Z.
