Headlight indicator

I had originally posted something here about dash lights not all coming on. I was looking through the manual and realized I might have misunderstood the indicators and am hoping someone can confirm what’s correct. This is for 2010 Honda Fit Sport.

so, when you turn on the headlights you turn the switch twice. The first brings on the parking lights, side lights, dash, etc and there is a little green indicator for it. The second turn of the switch brings on the headlights.

in the manual, it seems to be saying that no indicator comes on for the headlights if you are in low beam mode, which is what you want at night for city driving right? You only see the headlight indicator on the dash if it’s high beams?

so I’ve probably been driving with high beams on this whole time? Like an idiot?
It’s the same image as on the switch so I just thought it meant the headlights were on! (I’d be mortified but my high beams are probably not as blinding as most newer cars’ normal headlights!).

can someone confirm? Thanks!

There are indicator lights on both sides of the speedo. The one on the right will be lit green...only when the headlight stalk is turned to any position other than off.
The one on the left will be lit blue...only when the high-beam headlights are on. (pull the stalk for high-beams)
