Halfshaft Recall: Both Halfshafts or Only One With Damper? Conflicting Info Exists

According to my local Honda dealer and Honda Corporate, only the halfshaft with the dynamic damper (right/passenger side) is subject to recall action. Yet both of my halfshafts are corroded.

According to reports by others here on this forum, some people have had BOTH halfshafts inspected & replaced under the recall.

I need to get the facts on this, please. I will contact NHTSA as well. In the meantime, it might be helpful to keep a tally by year and type of transmission as to which halfshafts have been inspected and replaced for members of this forum.

Thanks.

From what I've read that only applies to manual transmissions. AT get both inspected and/or repaired.

Your Honda dealer will make the right decision.
Just let them take care of it.
