Ignition coil dilemma. Why can't I accelerate.
Hi Fit People.....wondering if this situation is familiar to anyone. Talking ignition coils. Over past 4 years, they have failed me, 1, 2, (both blew on the road) 3 as in loss of power, then most recently, 4, also power loss. Most recent dilemma, Code said cylinder 4 misfire. First 2 coils were replaced in an automotive shop. #3 was fixed by a mechanic friend of mine. #4, worked alongside same friend. Replaced all spark plugs last week, NGKs. Replaced # 4 coil pack. No go. Shortened gap in spark plug....nope. Interchanged coils. Nope. Cleaned and interchanged 4 fuel injectors. No go. Adjusted the valve's. Then switched out injectors 3 and 4. For a brief hair-tearing moment, code read 3....then switched back to 4. Currently, injectors 3 nd 4 still switched. For now, car starts, and starts off great. Then gets overridden by the computer, and car decelerates. Top speed is 40km. 2009, model, 238,000km. I now acknowlege my previous ignorance re maintenance on coils on the Fit. If anybody can share experience/insight...please, please do. Any suggestion as to next step, barring taking it to the ever-dreaded dealership?

Just a thought but what brand of aftermarket coils are you using ? Have heard people on this forum having good luck with these.

When you say coil “blew on the road “ do you mean coil ejected from the cylinder head which is an issue with these cars sometimes.
If so perhaps if that was the case repair method from this might be failing ?
