Cost of window master switch for 2009 Fit?
My passenger side window started malfunctioning and does not go up (only down) for my 2009 Fit. The service department at the dealer says the master window switch needs to be replaced and it will be $800 for parts and labor. Is this reasonable? Or should I look somewhere else to get this done? Thanks

I'd go with ebay OEM (~$60) if that's the issue. My driver window is starting to go down when I pull the tab to make it go all the way up. Makes it most of the way, then back down.
I suspect the guides in my case, though the master switch has got some rain water. If you spilled soda on it or something like that, goop may have caused a short/failure of some kind.
If you look up the window regulator/motor assembly you'll find that the windows ride a single central rail to go up and down. There's some plastic parts that wear allowing the glass to shimmy.. can cause excess resistance that activates the window assembly's safety feature. If too much resistance is encountered, say, a stuck finger, they go down automatically. Could unscrew and pop the door panel off just to make sure. if your windows vibrated a lot when open part-way during a drive I'd consider that cause instead.
uhcourse i'm sure the dealer could do a little test with a multimeter to see if the switch is sending signal voltage when the associated switch is pulled, or take it out, take the screws off the underside and see if it's gross in there..
I'd do this job for a neighbor for free it's easy.
Order the part, take it to a different shop to install. $20 if they're not kind-hearted. Or youtube it.
