Seeking coilover opinions
Hi all,
I'm looking to lower my Fit about 1.5-2" and I'm looking for some coilover recommendations. My Fit is my DD and pretty much street only -- as such I'm looking for comfort first and performance second. Ideally my budget is no more than ~1k, though I would be able to go a little bit over it for some really solid coils.
Additionally, are coilovers more comfortable than shocks+lowering springs? My thought process was that I'd rather go with coils so that I have dampening adjustment and I kinda wanted to be able to adjust the height so I could go lower or raise the car up for my snow tires. Either way, I'm not planning on lowering the car too much.
Originally I was looking at Tein Flex-Z's but they seem like they're sold out damn near everywhere unless I want to pay 1100.
Thanks all!

My only experience with coilovers is the Tein Street Basis Z coilover kit installed in my Fit. I think it's more basic and cheaper than the Flex-Z, no damping adjustment. The car drives stiffer than stock, a little uncomfortable for older folks. It's also probably because of the combination of my larger aftermarket wheels (16") and smaller side wall, less cushy tires. It's hard to recommend it for someone looking for comfort first. I don't have experience with more expensive coilovers kit, maybe someone else can chime in about that.

Looks like you can get K1's for just under 1k. Though, I have no idea how they ride.

Comfort first? Go for the TEIN Street BASIS, I know because I have them. They like-stock but remedies a lot of awfulness that I absolutely hated about the stock suspension, the floatiness and the side to side pitch. The TEINS reduces a lot of that (but not all of it.)
I'm in the process of installing the BILSTEIN B14 kit now, check out that thread. I like it stiffer and sportier, otherwise the TEINs would have been perfect for me.

theres some flex zs on ebay for around $800 new
i have the street basis...and they are definitely geared towards comfort vs performance...especially if you keep the ride height in the "recommended" zone (~1.5-1.75'' drop). any drop lower than that and you lose a lot of shock travel, comfort and handling on rough roads.
