Which size Rota Slips with 205 50r16 tires ??
Hello,
So currently on a 2010 Black Honda Fit Sport I am running 205 50r16 tires on stock Sport Alloy Wheels/stock suspension and the tires don't rub at all. The car has 103k miles and runs great, the car is used as a delivery vehicle so speed bumps and rough roads are a large part of this car's miles. I am looking to upgrade to Rota Slipstream, but need to dial in the Rim Size with 205 50r15 or 205 50r16 tires depending on rim size choice.
With stock suspension, would 205 50r15 tires rub with 15 x6.5 Rota Slipstreams 40mm ? What about 205 50r16 on 16 x 6.5 Rotas 45mm. I am trying to figure out whether the 40mm backspacing on the 15 x 6.5 Rota Slips would cause me to rub since I hit frequent speed bumps in and out of apartment buildings consistently. I like the look of 15's just not sure if the 40mm vs 45mm backspacing would make a large enough difference for any potential rubbing issues on a stock suspension Fit Sport.
Also, do these rims require hubcentric rings to match the different bore size from 56.1mm stock?
Thanks !

My biggest concern is rubbing with 205 50r15 on Rota Slips 15 x 6.5 +40mm on stock suspension. I did not know that Rota does not make slipstreams in 15" with anything less than 40mm. Also, what is the difference in potential rubbing in the 6.5 vs 7 inch wide versions ?
thx

having the 15x6.5 40et slipstreams i can tell u for a fact u will not rub at stock height. u will have an unsightly wheel/fender gap though.
if u plan on keeping your car stock height id get the 16 inch version to fill the wheel well. 40et will push your wheels out about 12mm which is about half an inch further that where u are now.
if you are scraping your car on speedbumps while at stock height, u have other problems to worry about first.

This is a pic of 15 x 6.5 40mm Rota Slips which the gap is obvious but not too bad looking with 195 55r15(these have a .2 inch bigger sidewall for drive quality) but I am trying to get away with 205 50r15 and 40mm backspacing with rough road conditions is the only thing. I plan on installing new KYB gas struts/shocks along with an alignment as part of the wheel/tire install. The flat blacks are georgeous but they are called "Satin Black" according to the rep in the USA. Hopefully, they are still flat and not glossy.

I literally have this setup on my car. Including the "satin" black. I am lowered 2.5 inches and have about 1" gap still. Anything higher with the 205 15 would look goofy...but thats just my opinion.
Check out my build thread linked in signature if u need visuals references.

The zeta one was ok for price. The honda one is a lot more solid. And expensive too.
THanks!
ive got about a half inch of clearance between the chassis and speed bumps i need to frequent. All driveways are taken at an angle. Front tire rubbed the fender liner before adding camber bolts and really hard turns.
