Drivetrain Recall
#2
Since Honda only sent the axle recall notices to specific rust belt areas/ owners, they're not going to find everyone with rusted/damaged axles. If your axles are affected and rusted, set an appointment to take your car to your local Honda dealership for inspection. If they state they aren't aware of the recall or haven't replaced any axles at their dealership, you can find the recall campaign number on the forum here.

Just wanted to give some info related to the drivetrain recall... I'm in SW Ontario, Canada and my 2012 Fit Sport has about 97k km/60250 miles on it on it. I went for a 2 minute drive down the road to pick up a pizza on Friday night, and the drivetrain snapped at a stop sign.
I was stopped, went to accelerate forward, moved about 2 feet and heard a bunch of nasty sounds. Engine/transmission seemed fine... got it pushed to a parking lot across the street. When I walked home, I remembered the recall letter I received in April, and figured the drivetrain was the most likely culprit. Towed it to Honda, and they gave me a call today letting me know they replaced the broken drivetrain (wahoo!)
When I looked under my car, I saw a substantial amount of rust, despite having an electronic 'rust inhibitor' attached to my battery. They use a lot of salt on the roads up here, which is too bad... The Fit is an awesome vehicle, and I'm glad Honda is warrantying this issue. I would strongly recommend Fit owners to get the drivetrains replaced!! (I tried in April, and was awaiting a call back from Honda, but I didn't persist after they failed to schedule it in).

Never heard of a battery-powered rust inhibitor. Sounds like snake oil and smoke and mirrors to me, I would have thought a decent undercoating like fluid film would do the trick.
Huzzah on the replaced driveshaft, however!
