AC clutch and relay question

AC clutch and relay question
Hi all,
I have a quick question and was wondering if anyone can verify this for me - I have a 2010 base model and the ac clutch is shot, causing a horrible grinding noise from time to time. Would pulling the relay prevent it from spinning? Any other issues that would happen if I pull this relay out? Been living without AC for a while, just want the noise to stop while I weigh out replacing it... Belt and pulley have been replaced but it's just too loud to bear. Any help is appreciated!

Depends on if you hear the noise all the time, or only when the AC is on. If you hear it all the time then it won't help since it's the pulley thats grinding. You could try to take it out and see what happens. If it stilll grinds though, you might put premature wear and strain on the belt so maybe get the clutch rebuilt, or at least clean/lube it up so itll work like a pulley and not put stress on your accessory system.
