It snap oversteered on me, i spun a couple times, and fortunately landed off the road in a clear spot to the right, rather than the barrier to the left. front wheel drive vehicles need good traction in the rear!

also, 205 club represent! Ive gone back and forth in widths over the years (had my '10 since 2012) and 205 is the nuts. I would go even wider, but i think that would require messing with wheel offset to some extent.
Sounds like understeer to me? Did you start to lose control of the front, crossed up the wheel a bit, lift off the gas (transferring weight forward) and then lose the rear?

Usually when people talk about snap oversteer they're talking about lift off oversteer induced via weight transfer. Ironically, in front wheel drive the easiest way to get the car back under control is to point the wheels into the slide and give it a little gas.

I prefer to have as much available traction in the front as possible, but to each their own.

yeah it was a couple years ago so memory is fuzzy, but I think you actually nailed it. I would have been only feathering the gas as it was but with how little traction I had to begin with thats probably all it took. oh I should probably also note this was while going straight, not on a corner.
