AC issue 2020 edition
I have an 09 Fit that wasn't blowing cold air all the time and then shop checked out. They removed low refrigerant and filled new refrigerant. Issue still occurs but now cold air is cooler. It blows cold then after a while it blows warm air. If AC is shut off for a while and then turn on later it blows cold again. I looked at old threads but haven't found solution. The car feels like an EZ Bake on hot days. They put dye so later the leak can be found. The main issue is the hot air it blows. Thanks.

Yes, its the Honda Fit surely were not given enough cooling ability but it was not like this before. It blows warm air after a while as if the AC were off and it just blowing air that is the same temp as outside.

My fit was doing the same thing - cold air would stop blowing after a while... and actually no air would be coming through, indicating an ice up evaporator.
I bought a set of manifold gauges on Amazon (39$), measured the pressure and it was low in both lines, indicating low refrigerant level.
Bought a $7 can of R134A refrigerant from Walmart, charged up the system using this set of gauges, and the AC works well now.
I've driven from LA to Vegas, going through 110F desert and AC was adequate on 1-2 fan setting for just me inside. Of course I also have a dash mat, white car and metallic tinted windows all around.
I heard the valves might be leaking sometimes (that's a couple dollars in parts but can be tricky to replace if the system is charged). Dye should help diagnose the leak. Also you thermistor could be bad.
