Battery Story
The wife & I went for take out at resturant by our house, around noon. In parking lot, waiting for the order & noted window wouldn't roll up. Tried to start the car, dead battery. So called AAA (Arizona) & little over an hour later, tech arrived. Said he'd replaced 7 batteries that morning alone. Said when it gets colder, the sides & top of battery tend to flex. Can cause cracks & battery gas escapes, resulting in dead battery. We made sure AAA knew we have a Fit, cuz battery is smaller than normal. Anyhoo, tech was great, did good job, got it all done in 20 min. 6 year warrenty for battery, which usually last 2-3 years here in hot box Phoenix. Blessing was that we were parked by a tree, so had shade. Wife says it will be a picnic lunch. Glad we have AAA. Our Fit is 2013 Base, 5 speed stick, bought used in 2014, now has 82,000 miles on it. Second battery so far.

You're about on par with where most of us are for batteries. I put my second battery in mine this January, I'm at 90k myself. Last battery went almost 8 years before starting to struggle in cold starts. Advance Auto Gold battery, same as the last one.

@siguy: I have the same car, around the same milage, and I think I'm on my fourth battery.
Recently, I was in a fender-bender on the freeway, and I put my hazard lights on. Must have been 20 mins. Maybe 30 mins. When it was over, and I went to pull away, the battery was dead. Had to have the CHP who was on scene give me a jump. Really pissed me off. Much swearing to be heard on the way home. I determined to figure out the bigger battery mod (51R, I think that's it) or get a new OEM battery. I'm in an apartment with a carport. I can't work on my car here, so I have to have my parts and plans in order before I rent the garage space and attempt the mod.
By the way, I got better life out of my batteries on my '08 Fit. Not sure why. Both cars were/are OEM with no accessories to drain the battery. Both cars were driven in the same way in the same climate.

It's rated for an engine 3X the size in the Fit. The biggest engine I've seen it jump is a 3.2L in an Acura and it had no trouble. Left it with my coworker while he was waiting for a tow and he was able to use it to keep his cell phone topped up.
Got it for $35 on one of those prime deals

This is the one I carry in the car: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Yeah it's overkill for the Fit, but I had originally bought it for a Toyota 4Runner with the 4.0L engine

Thanks for the link and info, dudes.
$50 bucks is a little pricey, but not too bad. And, as it happens, I've got a little time on my hands right now, so I can look around online for comparative pricing.
So, um, pardon my dumbness, but how does the charger get charged and stay charged?

I like in the link how it weighs "just 18lbs!" lol

On the one that you linked, could you plug it into the USB port on the Fit and charge it that way (while the car is driving at speed)?
#15
yes you could but it would probably take forever to charge since the one on my fit is only 1amp charger.
