Still carrying bikes

Back from the dead … this thread, that is. The Fit is still going strong. About 18 months ago I moved from Colorado to southeastern Virginia (ugh) for work and the Fit is still with me as my daily driver.

I’m currently at 107k miles. I haven’t done much maintenance on this car. Basically it’s an oil change every 9k miles, tire rotations every 18k miles and I have done two manual transmission fluid changes since purchasing the car at just under 68k miles.

My question is … at this mileage how should I be prioritizing maintenance? I’m probably due for coolant flush, new belts and a valve adjustment. I don’t want to do any of that myself … I don’t have the time or desire any longer to work on cars beyond quick and simple stuff. I’m going to buy another car in the next year or so as my primary vehicle so mileage will not accumulate as quickly for the Fit.

I’d rather not do all this stuff and whatever else it will need all at the same time and would prefer to spread it out over about the next 18 months.

Hope everybody here is doing great. This car has exceeded my expectations over the three years I’ve had it. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Thanks — they’re Chevy Cobalt wheels. No issues with them and they look fine, but I wouldn’t necessarily go out of my way to look for a set of them.

That's an awesome colour! And wheels too! It's good to hear your Fit has served well.

Another quick update: the Fit now has just under 112k miles. It’s making good power and getting good gas mileage so I decided to not do a valve adjustment just yet. I did have the drive belts replaced and the the cooling system flushed and refilled a few months ago. It’s still doing great.

I also bought a new car last weekend. It will be my primary commuter and I’m keeping the Fit for longer trips and adventures.
