Has anyone moved armrest away from seat?
Has anyone tried moving the standard armrest edit:attached to the driver's seat) in the 2013 Fit Sport over an inch or two so that it is more comfortable and functional? It is just too close to the driver's seat to be comfortable for my arm. I would like to retain the armrest.

I assume you are referring to the standard armrest that is attached to the seat and not to the center armrest.
If so, I have never seen this. Your best bet is to get a Zeta center console which for me is much more comfortable than the armrest. Modifying the OEM armrest will be a very big chore since you will need to heavily modify the structure of the seat in order to move the armrest.
Here is a pic of my Zeta console:

I have abandoned moving the armrest,but....
I have abandoned moving the armrest, but I still think it is possible. I modified a photo I found at this FitFreak site. The two bolts (that limits the armrest to 90 degrees rotation) were impossible to find. All bolts have to be about 50 mm longer. If anyone try this, then please post results and pictures.

I also have the Zeta brand Waiz posted. I found mine on aliexpress and took about half a month to arrive.
Its not worth the hassle for the $50 it costs to get the Zeta
I have yet to install mine but I hated last summer driving around with no arm rest.
The stock one looks far too skinny for my liking anyways (thats what she said)

I hated the armrest attached to the seat-- for some reason, it made me feel trapped. I bought the Zeta armrest back in 2010 and have been happy with it- I never even bolted it in and it has stood up well.
I noticed Zeta no longer shows it on their website, but seems as though there are similar ones on ebay.

My center armrest extender
I own a slightly used 2013 Honda Fit Sport with Katzkin leather seats and I have always been dissatisfied with the tiny, short center armrest attached to the side of the driver’s seat. It was just too close to the seat and not long enough. I wanted to move the center armrest closer to the passenger seat and make it longer, but I couldn’t find longer versions of the two bolts that limit the armrest to 90 degrees rotation. I was able to put a rubber hose washer between the armrest and the seat and pick up 1/8” more room with no trouble.
So, I built my own armrest extension bump using scraps around the garage. After unbolting the armrest from the seat, and wrapping the end with plastic to protect the leather, I used half of a coffee cup Styrofoam shipping container as a bump for the end of the armrest.
I filled in around the armrest with cut Styrofoam chunks in order to counter rotation (it doesn’t have to be neat, it will never be seen) and duct taped that part.
After a test fitting, I used sheet foam to pad the three sides not facing the driver’s seat so my elbow would better fit the bump. The padding hurt the appearance somewhat by making the bump less square. I used black stretch silicone tape (no adhesive) to keep the bump on the armrest, and then covered the bump with the black felt I used for my cargo cover. I didn’t have any black vinyl. I attached the black felt to the bump with double sided adhesive tape.
