DIY: Refrigerated/heated upper glovebox.

I had a few people ask me how this works and how to do this, so here's a quick DIY on how to make your upper glovebox in a mini fridge or heated box.

What you need
Honda jazz valve cover 77506-TF0-G00ZA
About 3 inches of rubber tubing ~3/8 inch opening size, but test fit in the valve first.
Panel prying tool
Garden trimmer

Start by removing the stock blank cover from your upper glovebox like so
(mine had the valve already in this pic)

Remove the vent cover by prying with the same tool from the top, it'll come off pretty easily.

Locate the little nub on the left of the vent. This is where the tube will connect to.

Use the garden trimmer to cut about 1/2 inches of the end of the nub.

Slide the rubber tubing over the nub until it is secure. Figure out the length of tubing needed by test fitting it in the valve cover and clipping it into the glovebox.

Once you get the right length of tubing you will end up with something like this.

Put the vent cover back on, and you're done! Turn the valve up or down to activate the heated/chilled glovebox. Closing the vent will help the performance as well. Here's the final result:

Enjoy!

AWESOME!!! I thought there was going to be a T off from the main box. Nice to know its only a T off the far right vent.

Props to you!!

How much did the Jazz part cost?

Usb

Even i got this function in the car, I didnt get the USB connection.
After I upgraded the Radio with the USB unit, i positioned the USB connector to the bottom of the center console instead of leaving it inside the cooler... less messy...

Also I dont know if connor mentioned but the plastic connection betweent the vent and the glovebox is not available for purchase, as there is no part number available....

I don't use my iPod that often so it's nice for it to be out of the way. I can control it entirely with my navi unit. But I guess it's slightly annoying when I switch it to USB for a movie. Still like having that lower area free for other things though. For the valve cover, I just drilled a small hole to let the USB cable fit through.

Yeah, I just bought a rubber tube. You can see it in the parts list lol.

I love this! However, I searched for that Honda valve cover p/n and it cannot be found. Is this not available for the US Fit? Is this a euro p/n for Jazz only? I have 2009 US Fit.

I think you will have to have it shipped in from Europe as the Jazz was sold over there and its a Jazz part- shipping will be a ton likely

I wonder if the USDM Right Vent had that outlet because yours are Canada Fit... hmmm
I guess, I need to pry out my right vent

I like this modification because I plan to put AEM F/IC (or other piggy back) in that glove box and I prefer if we can cooled it...
Trying to source the vent part now...

Im willing to bet its the same. Canada and us fits are exactly the same save for some minor trim differences.

Install mine today, Thanks for this diy from connor55

What I learn is I need to get the hose with 3/4in outer diameter and 5/8in inner diameter. At first I used the one with 1/2in inner diameter and it is too small...

here are the pictures on mine:
