Changing my subs

Yup decided I wanted more out of my car, and yet go lower in taken up space. How do you do that you might ask, well you take out the entry level 10's in a ported box I have now and you build a custom ported box for 1 12" badass sub to take its place! So I will be using a Sundown SA12D4 should be here Thursday at the latest. Running my amp at 2ohm mono gonna put out roughly 1100watts real power not fake wattage. Box is 1.8cuft after displacement, tuned at 32Hz ! Should make for some serious bass and the good response I crave in the low end!

For anyone who knows me, you all know I hate trying to design boxes. I suck at the math especially when it comes to ported boxes. Well I took the leap today used the RE calc and feedback from my bro who does testing for Sundown. So here is what I made, granted its NOT PERFECT, hell it's been over 8 years since I have built a box but it came out pretty good for me never ever building something like this before.

Cannot wait to hear this thing!

From what I've read, I can't imagine getting more than an sa8. Would 2 sa8's not be to your liking? I'd assume with a good box design, it would take up less space.

yeah it will get's down. i don't have any pictures of the amp, but it's a hi-fonics brutus 1600d with a stinger 5 farad cap. got these subs wired to .7 ohms and this amp is a trooper. my stock honda batt is not happy though, getting an xs d1200 battery coming to me soon. just ordered the batt today.

^especially if the box was designed to fit under the rear seats or perhaps the lower portion of the trunk floor. Augment those with some Aura bass shakers or RF Ibeam's attached underneath and inside the back of the seats and it will feel like you have a couple 15's in there.

ouch, .7 ohms, stock battery and i assume stock altenator as well? you should really do the Big 3 if you havnt already and upgrade that weak Altenator to a H.O. Alt so it can keep up and stop killing your batteries. 1600 watts, assuming your pushing it hard, is pretty hard on stock Alts and batts, even with the Cap.
