GE8 dome light wiring location inside dash?
This is for the 2009.
Anyone have a pict of where the dome light wiring is on the driver side fuse junction panel?
cant seem to find the right keywords for the search... (not looking for the 2007-2008).
Thanks!
Ken

It is the plug in the middle with the pink and blue wires.
I used them to wire my 12" cathodes under the dash. They work like the dome light except you cannot turn them on using the dome light switch. They work with doors and ignition switch though like the dome. There are some threads here but I cannot find them anymore.

You are welcome.
Yes just the two wires. What are you hooking up? I got a piggy back type connector you just squeeze over those wires to make connection rather than try to splice into them. Don't have to worry about polarity of either a LED or cathode even though they will only work one way. They will not blow out if you do it wrong.

The pics
In the open sideéslot you put the existing pink or blue wire. You new wire goes in the hole closest to hinge. There is ony one end open in that slot. Then take pliers and squeeze the metal part down. It will pierce all the wires. Then fold the hinge part on the right over to close it.
I originallly had just folded the piece over but did not cause the metal to pierce the wires.
In the second pic you can see two sort of white or clear wires. They are the new ones coming from my cathodes.
Sorry the second pic is not that clear.
Any auto store should have similar connectors.

Can we see pics? Did the covers come off easy? What kind of LED did you use? I have a few extras and was just gong to place one near the ignition switch sort of loose as I do not have the circle one using tubing.

Tried, but I can't get a good pict of it... I need slower shutter on the camera.
The steering cover is easy to remove. Like the GD, it has 3 screws on the bottom and you just pry apart the top and bottom pieces using a squeegee or interior tool.
Like what you mentioned, I just zip tied a LED to the ign key area. So this is why its not a "ring" when it illuninates.
My GD also uses just a LED and no ring and to me its functional and works great. . You get like a half circle. Hahaha
