You didn't indicate what type of HU you have, but for many/most Pioneer units, you ground the parking brake wire from the HU rather than connecting it to the parking brake circuit. Generally, any metal structure nearby will do. Note: search online for specific instructions for your model rather than just winging it. I'm sure that somebody will have done this before if it's possible... Likely search terms are "parking brake bypass (your model/unit)".
For Pioneer units with a GPS, you have a few additional steps since it can detect that you are actually moving via the GPS: you often have to move a wire in the harness and ground it in addition to grounding the Pbrake wire, or you have to apply a software mod to the unit.
