has anybody done an 09 dx/lx to 2012 sport front bumper conversion? is it pretty straight foreward? how much is a 2012 bumper? anybody know where to get cheap OEM parts?

I've done a 2012Lx to 2009-11 sport bumper conversion. I made a thread on it. The only thing what would be different for the 2012-13 would be different upper grill, fog housings,and of course the bumper.

You would need to buy side skirts as well, if you don't want your bumper to hang lower than the bare sides. I recommend the Mugen ones because the stock ones require drilling for installing. Mugen ones only require some screws and 3m taping.

You will also lose your front mudflaps if you happen to have them.

Cost was just over 1000cdn for parts shipped plus about 300 for painting the bumper. Still cheaper than the sport model, but looks just as good

 

that seems fair....I just like the 2012 sport bumper. It's the grille!!!! i have my honda emblem blacked out and with the base headlights all the black in the front is sooooooo much better then having it all chrome. but the 2012 has the grille extended from light to light wich i like. And i would be looking for the mugen skirts as well either those or the extreme dimension ones .

 

I was thinking of converting my 2012 sport to a 2012 base bumper because of the aftermarket grilles and if I could get a front lip spoiler like this:

Do they actually make those kinda lips for the usdm base? Why not a 2011 or older sport? It has the smaller grille as well.

I still have my base bumper with fogs installed if you're really interested in doing that..

 

I like the look of the wider opening on the base bumper especially if you blacken it out. I think I could find a polyurethane lip that could work. Thanks for the offer the cost of shipping would be high plus I initially want no fog lights.

about to start this as well. I have the bumper on the way, and my question is since I didn't have fog lights already installed, could I essentially use this kit

and fit the bulbs into the 2012 fog housing:
