How to remove antenna base?
Has anyone removed the antenna base? Is it just a nut and bolt holding it in place? I was thinking of going through belt opening at the top. Thoughts? Thanks!

Yes. I've recently done it. It's pretty difficult and I scratched up my hand and did wrinkle my headliner a bit but it's doable. It's a 15mm bolt and a clip just above the passenger tail inside the beige part of the interior trim. There is also a slide clip that I couldn't see but got the wire off of by pushing toward the front of the car.
The bolt would be easier to get to with a ratcheting box end.
Let me know how I can help.

Ok here's where I went in...there is a clip behind the door of the latch hook cover.
This is right about where the wire is for the antenna
There are 2 lock pins on the clip, it doesn't just squeeze and come apart
The lock pins are dark grey where as the clip/connector is lighter grey
Here is the area where there is some sort of sliding clip. I never could see it, just feel it. Felt like there was electrical tape around the wire and then it was slid onto a clip shaped like a u. The clip bent enough when I pushed the wire forward towards the front of the car but did not break. I did not put it back on that clip when finished.
Here is about where the bolt is...again, 15mm...but it would be easier and probably cause less strain on the headliner if you used a ratcheting box wrench.
Does that help?

Sweet. Post up if you get stuck and I may be able to help you out. I was really upset when I did it or I would have taken pics. I had been worried about it for a month, was going to pay to have it done with vinyl roof install but 3 car guys couldn't figure it out. I couldn't imagine it was that hard, got so upset and stopped caring about messing something up. Just went out there and did it. Boom!
