Has anyone painted the black rear emblem trim?

Similar to a GD. Like in this chop:

Not sure if I like it more, but am just curious.

I thought about it but decided against it. But if I were to do it, I would buy one of the eBay garnishes and paint that instead. That way you could just go back to OEM if you wanted to.

Yeah, that's what I had figured too. Get a spare somehow. It does clean it up a bit and makes it less like a Suzuki Aerio hatch, and more like its competition.

Another chop, but using ?!huh!?'s car. Yes that's a username. I'm kinda surprised this isn't a more popular mod.

Excuse the crappy emblem layer. It was hard to cut out and lay back on the white. Looks good without the logo too.

To be honest... I'm not sure if I like or dislike it either.

One thing I do dislike, the part around the emblem. When it's black, it blends in with the window (I like that). But with body color paint, it sticks out like a huge zit. Leaving that area black while painting the rest would probably make it look worse.

HAHAHA... I was using one of the pictures I took of my Fit just before my trip... and the view of the hatch made me think of Master Chief (Halo).

Yeah, there is a hump where the emblem sits, and would create an uneven line across the window line. Being an ex dubber, my inclination is to paint shit and get as even, and minimalist, of a look as possible. When I first got the fit, I admired this difference from the GD3's look, and thought the back looked really dynamic with the large 'V' element in the design, but now I want to tinker and see if it looks a bit cleaner, and more classy.

I think it would look better if you shaved the emblem and then painted.

I remember someone saying in a post a while back that the point of it being black is to give the car a broader looking stance, don't know how much of a difference it really makes though.

Just saw that the Fit EV concept had the painted rear, but with the clear tails, which makes it hard to visualize as being more attractive.

What's funny is I have a GD and pained mine black. Seems like you want the opposite when modding. If you dig, it try it, it's only paint.

after seeing this thread i decided to leap (i was painting something else also so i had extra paint/clear).

to me, it kind of looks a but euro now. but i like it. i'm surprised it isnt more common too.

EDIT: i should note that the part is very difficult to remove and i broke all but 1 of the clip mounting tabs. with a little plastic repair material i fixed them. those new honda clips are really tight and the part is pretty flimsy. just a heads up.

looks good. Did you take it off the body? If so, was it hard to do?
