54% Window Tint- Before and After

Here are pics of my Fit with untinted windows and tinted windows.

Admittedly, the days were not the same as far as sunshine, however, you should be able to see some difference. The untinted shot was taken during an overcast day near the end of winter. The tinted shot was taken during a very bright sunny day.

The tint is Viper Security Film-54% all around.

The good:
It definitely helps lower the heat index inside during bright days and yet, is still easy to see out in darkness. It is a very neutral grey tint with a hint of mirroring. You can use any window cleaner on it without harmful effects.

The bad:
Viper has a shaded “Viper” logo on the film which shows from the inside. It is fairly small and unobtrusive, (near the bottom of the windows), but it is still there. I have gotten used to it, but I would prefer that it wouldn’t be there at all. Buyer beware.

You shouldn't use any cleaner with ammonia on any window tint, FYI.

Really?

I know that in the past, almost all window tints warned not to use ammonia based products.

The shop that sold me this told me that Viper says you can use even ammonia based cleaners on this film.

The Viper website says this about its film maintainence:
After installation let the film cure for a minimum of 30 days, then simply clean windows as you normally would using standard window cleaning solution and soft lint-free cloth. Avoid using abrasive materials that may scratch or damage the film.

I use what I would consider (opinion here) better tint, Llumar, and it specifies no ammonia ever. I use sprayway or invisible glass anyways, so no worries of adverse effects on tint adherence and color consistency over time. Plus, they do a better job than windex.

I used invisible glass for the first time on mine.
I had never used that stuff before. It worked really well and did not streak at all.

I'll probably just stick with that since it works better than Windex anyway.

Also try Sprayway if you like a foamier spray versus IG's liquid spray (unless you went with the compressed can).

My tinter gives away Sprayway with new tint jobs.
