GE8 K-SWAP. The future is not so distant anymore
#63
hmmm a perfect wire harness will be hard to find.as mine was a hybrid Fit with CRZ engine,so a lot of info was there on net and crz forums.but for normal GE fit, which has different ecu pinouts and wiring it can be difficult using single ecu concept.the best you can use is civic si 06-11 ecu with hondata.

the idea to use civic si ecu is that we dont have to alter B and C plugs as they are bolton on k-series.just we have to alter slightly A plug.and wire O2 sensor.not a big problem

what about 2 ECU?

Trouble is TCS (Tailored Chassis Solutions) didn't really document their swap at all. They are just like "if you want this, call us" which means $$$. They also don't want to put a firm pricetag on such a swap, so it's not like you can hand them $5,000 and have a swapped Fit on the other end. It's more like "send us a car, send us a motor, will mesh the two and charge you after we determine its level of ass-pain."
We really need someone to do this, lay out a price list, parts list, ect.
I've got the money, I've got the local shop, but its the "it could cost $5,000 or it could cost $10,000" that bugs me. I can get a Subaru WRX and know exactly how much my local shop will charge for a built motor swap. A K-Fit, not so much.

Agreed. It won't become a popular chassis because the majority is not willing to spend the money to make it happen. It's the same idea as people wanting Skylines legalized in the USA; people who want Skylines legalized in the USA can't afford STIs, Evos, etc. and want a car that's going to cost more to be legalized? Importers don't stay in business by sitting on inventory.
