my planned big purchase come spring are bags so budget has already been set aside. with this thread to mind, I am now weighing the two... bags or sc? the weight tends to shift on the sc side. not trying to jinx anything but the worse thing that could happen if this sc fails... is me on bags

Maybe reverse psychology will work
So.... if these RaceLine guys bail and break more hearts yet you still insist you want to go boosted, be it supercharger or turbo here is what you need to DIY:
Note: a supercharger would be easier, and potentially cheaper because it would not require an adapter to go from the GE cylinder head or a downpipe to attach to the turbo outlet.

All PMs have been responded to, sorry for the delay!
Really all we need for GEs (all prices are if you buy brand new and you are buying the more expensive ones available):
AEM FIC - $600
Loggable UEGO Gauge and Controller - $200
IAT - $50
MAP - $90-150 depending on your goals
EGT- $120-180
In line fuel pump - $90-220 depending on your goals
Adjustable fuel pressure regulator - $100-230
Charge piping/couplers - $150-400
Injectors - $300-1100 depending on your goals
Exhaust Mani adapter - $30 in materials.. labor depends on how good of friends you are with the machinist or what tools you have
Downpipe - $60 in flanges and materials plus labor (see above)
Intercoolers - $200-1000+ depending on your goals
BOV/Bypass - $40-200
Turbo or Supercharger - $300-1800 depending on your goals
Boomslang wiring harness - $220
So ~$2500- $5300 for a balls to the walls set up with everything new in box at full retail mark-up prices. This is neglecting free/salvaged parts.
This would be the route to go for people looking for >180whp, and not everything listed is necessary but I would strongly recommend all of the above including aftermarket sensors, AFPR, etc. Depending on your tuning ability and goals, rotating assembly upgrades couldnt hurt and in some cases will be necessary, but at the cost of atleast another $1k thrown in.
MAF/MAS tuning and calibration would be easier for beginners, Speed Density would be ideal and not every can afford to set up Speed Density the easy way with a MAF/MAS and then change their charge piping after initial VE table setup.

Would love to!
That is a pretty good price approximation of what a decent 165whp+ project would run for one of these guys.
You could make yourself a more spartan kit than that and it would be cheaper, but really for piece of mind and proper monitoring/tuning capabilities that list is pretty comprehensive!
If you have any questions or anything feel free to PM me.

bump for this. i'm very interested in this. i think it would be a perfect add on for next summer. something to show off at some shows, and hit the drag strip. i've been talking to people who have had these on other cars, and they love'em. my question is tho, what is a price of a SC kit for a civic for instance? d-series SOHC vtec. and then the price on a b-series one. i have no idea on pricing of these and i'm looking for some comparisons. lets get this going

i want my lil fit.. running with some extra power!

S/C kits for the D-series are only available used now

The list is getting bigger, but I hope not too many people flake out. Usually only half of the people who commit end up really following through. Same thing happens with meets. 30 people say they're going to go then about 15 actually show up.
