Decided to buy an ODBII Scanner. The code that was up today is P0171 System Too Lean (Bank 1).
Assuming that means I am getting more air, and the system is not making up for it by adding more fuel. Any ideas on how to get some more fuel in there?

Not sure what you are asking, I'm using the hacked up stock box for the maf. I'm usuming that since I am running too lean that the air has increased but the fuel has not, hence causing the lean condition.

My instincts lean towards a vacuum leak. I've had mine in for 10,000 miles and never a cel. Think of it this way: The stock maf tube and maf sensor are calibrated precisely. If more air is flowing through, the computer will add more fuel. Companies are putting 6psi of boost straight through the maf with no tune at all and getting increased power. However, if you have a vacuum leak between the throttle body and maf, the computer has no way of knowing it is there. More air will come it to the system than the reading from the maf indicates. It will add fuel according to the MAF reading but it will be incorrect because of the extra air from the vacuum leak. So, that will leave only the MAP and o2 sensor to make up for it. The computer gets confused by the conflicting readings and tosses a cel at you. That's my best guess

I'll check again, but considering it was over 800 miles between install and first cel, and about the same for the second, each time with a 600+ mile round trip to vegas, I would think vacuum leak in that area would make itself known sooner.

I've had issues before with my 6th gen accord. Same scenario, road trip, but with aftermarket intake. CEL triggering between the aftermarket intake and CEL eliminator on my exhaust system was a race of who triggers the light first.

I went with a short 5" length , 5" dia. base and 3.5" dia. top with 3" inlet filter
from AFE Power 24-30001 - aFe Pro 5R Air Filter Elements which I bought from a friend for $25
kudos to OP...
and anyone attempting to do this hack-mod should consider using a solid sharp kitchen knife.
kitchen/butcher's knife cuts clean thru the abs plastic like butter!!!

I wanted to hook up vacuum to the pcv breather so here's another iteration
lets call it non-nitrous (done for the winter) version 3.4.1
Oil Catch Can. Super ghetto but effective and definitely of the DIY spirit.
tapped the MAF tube and attached a fitting for vacuum.
That's how I preserved the velocity stack as I discussed earlier.
All together. I'm not trying to be in any cars shows. The catch can seems essential because I do catch alot of oil and condensation in it that would otherwise go into the intake.

dunno if it would work or might throw a vac leak code but I'm trying... air in 1 pass thru the flow sensor and air in 2 is direct to tb. there will be lots of trial and error (more on the error) airflow manipulation blah blah... but LOL it's winter so I think I'm entitled to on crazy project

I tried blowing in my fitting and staled the engine but a vacuum leak on its own hardly affects the engine idle. Not realy sure what significance of that is. Unmetered air only leans things out.

When I tested my intake-hack it only growls significantly around 3k rpm and the rest was quiet. Now imagine if having 2 resonating pipes at the intake... one short and one a tad longer nice mean growl at 3k then gradually diminishes past 3k then enters another note from the longer pipe at higher rpm LOL again... blame winter and the cold air it brings and not me.
LOL I'm so ready to stick a flute up the tb

EvilOne gives me some thoughts tho because i still need to fabricate a correct insert for my spectre MAFS tube. Basically its 3" and it needs to be 2" so ive been spending all this time trying to figure out what and how to made this reducer insert to put in the 3" tube when ur idea just sparked something.
I could just put a 2" tube inside it and use a couple screws on the top to secure it so it would kind of look like this:

btw... love how the intake hack interacts with the discrete sound of the tanabe touring medallion. they don't drown each other's sound. It would be a blast comparing it when my PRM arrives

Java good thinking. The only problem I see is that ALL the air has to go through the 2" tube to get an accurate reading, not just some of it. Evil, I like those clamps, where'd you get em? And I agree the intake and exhaut interacts very well even with a straight pipe.
