Next Steps after K&N cold air intake install
Hello, I'm new to the Fit forum, but I have been having an issue with my 2011 Base Honda Fit.
I do a lot of cross country travel, and I noticed that my engine gets pretty darn hot driving 80 mph across Texas, so I was hoping to boost the cool air flow to get better better MPG.
Installed the short K&N cold air intake, definitely can hear the difference, but my check engine light keeps signalling I'm driving the car too lean. Too much air from the intake, so I've reset/cleaned my ECU from what I saw on Reddit, cleaned the air intake, but I'm not getting any results.
My next steps I've come up with could be buying a $500 Ktuner, putting in a $250 exhaust system to better air flow out, or just giving up on the $250 cold air intake.
Any suggestions?

No other issues that I've been able to isolate, mechanic that was helping me with a check-up helped check all my connections and tubes. He recommended I run with it for a month to let the ECU recalibrate, but to no avail. Is that even how ECU's work?
From what I've read about putting in air intakes, it's a common issue with Honda Fits. This is the first car I've ever really modded, so I'm still learning a lot of things. Would manually adjusting the air to gas ratio with the Ktuner have any impact? I guess the goal would be to somehow teach my ECU to run with the intake
