strut tower bushing or sway bar bushings
I've owned my 08 Honda , Fit Sport since New. It has been a fun car to own, it now has 106,200 miles on it, I don't run the stock rims on it, I've put the 2011 sport Fit rims on the car , I like the ride, for it's a little higher and I just think the rims look better.
Now to the problem, I've recently had a friend look at the car and thought that the strut mount bushing on the driver side look like it is bad, He moved the tire back in forth to check other possible problems, but didn't feel anything that he felt was a problem. I then took it to FIRESTONE, They couldn't narrow the problem down to one Repair , so they said it could be a strut mount bushing or the sway bar bushings.
the Car is still driving pretty straight - when letting Go of the wheel, but for some reason I hear a thumping noise while inside the cabin, on a smooth surface you well hear nothing, but once you hit a chuck hole, there is that noise. I don't beat on my car, like drop the clutch and do burn outs, but we have some fun corners in my area, which I do like to drive . the car is like glue, but now it seems that when the car hits a bump, the front left tire doesn't feel like it is making contact with the road.
So what do you guys think, is it more common for it to be the sway bar or the strut mount bushing. Thanks in advance. JD
