Cheap Lowering

Hey everyone, I have a 2007 UK Honda Jazz (Based in the UK of course), and would love to lower it.

I know about the possible options of either coilovers or springs, but I have a bit of a dilemma.

In the UK the coilovers are between £600 - £1000 (From what I've seen) and the springs are around £130.

Thing is, I've read that the springs are actually quite disappointing and the coilovers are very very expensive. Is there anyone in the UK who has lowered their car and is happy with the drops on springs? Or anyone who knows the cheapest way of getting coilovers?

Proper springs will be fine, cheap coil overs are bling on most street cars, there is a reason Penske coil over shocks cost north of 2000 dollars each. For their most basic ones.

If the car is going to see track time and you need to weight balance the car then they make some sense. Otherwise a set of springs and shims will get you there, Eibach/Ground Control are where I'd start, also find a race shop that can test the stock springs, and measure them, then you can buy them by size not by application which can save some cash..

Progressive rate will ride better.

Thats good to know, thank you.

Theres 99% the car will see NO track time, which is a shame, but theres nothing local to me.

I think I'll just go with springs then, seen some which offer a 40mm drop which sounds good to me, still with stock sized 15x6.5 wheels.

Thanks for your help!

You might also look at some cushy soft bump stops for that last inch of travel so if you hit a speed bump too hard or something it will stop the ka-bang, prevents bent parts..
