WD-40 to unstick a hazard switch?
2008 Fit Sport Auto:
My hazard switch is super sticky and stuck (in the off position fortunately). I try to push the switch on and it gives just a bit but doesn't depress all the way. Reminds me of when my kid spilled syrup onto his GameCube controller. I've never used syrup (or soft drinks) in my car so I know that's not the culprit.
The dealership says that they would have to remove the dashboard to diagnose the problem, which is kind of spendy. What about squirting some WD-40 into the cracks around the switch, will that hurt anything?

I dont think it would break stuff but it might gunk up the switch with dirt since dirt could get stuck in the lubricant. I'd give rubbing or isopropyl alcohol a shot first. It evaporates quickly so it probably wouldn't foul anything up and might clean the sticky substance that is causing the issue

Agreed.
Better if you could do some disassembly yourself and clean (with alcohol or maybe a cloth dampened with water). WD-40 (which is not a lubricant but a "water displacement" fluid) and lubricants will, as MTLian says, mix with whatever dirt is there and make things worse (probably).
