Thumbs up Catalytic Converter Heat Shield

My Catalytic Converter Heat Shield bottom half basically rusted off. From what I'm seeing this is pretty common. Curious to where I should buy the replacement part. The other thing is it has a few different names making it very hard to find at local shops like "advanced auto parts".

I've been on a few different sites (Honda Parts at Honda Parts Now | Genuine OEM Honda Auto Parts) but I don't know which are reputable or if I should go the Ebay route...

Any recommendations appreciate! I'm new here, and was recommended by a friend. This site rocks so far..

I'm in the York, PA area.

Mind posting links of the product on eBay?

HondaPartsNow is legit, have ordered before.

I don't have one i found on ebay. They were really vague about the year and such for the ones I did find. I'm actually considering on letting it slide. It's just the bottom shield. I hear a lot of people go w/o them.

Last oil change (two weeks ago), I noticed that the shield on our '07 was turning into dust...I'll pull it off if it starts to rattle. No need to replace IMO.

The bottom cover fell off of mine as I was driving! I got a used one on ebay. The bolts were rusted on so I had to have a "professional" ie person with tools, install it.

I was told by several mechanics you don't really need to replace the shield, just make sure you don't park over a pile of dried leaves. Whoosh! Up in flames!

We did too. Just make triple sure you don't park over anythingflammable, including grass. the cat gets VERY HOT ! and has started fires that burned the vehicle to the gound. ihat includes dripping from your car as well.
there are sellers on ebay with 95%+ ratings that probably would be a good choice for a new piece. Also know that if your car starts afire and the shield isn't there you can well be held accountable.
