Finally paid off my Fit!

Howdy folks! I haven't posted on here in a looooooooooooooooooooooooong time. This past month I finally paid off my 2008 NHBP Fit. I had to refinance a year in due to some personal tragedy but she's doing pretty well for 138,000 miles.

Now that I have no car payment, time to start focusing on fixing her up. Taking care of some annoying maintenance items first and then on to mods.

Sweet!

I'm on the other end of owning one- I haven't made my first payment yet. OTOH, what I'm saving at the pump is going to cover a lot of that.

The things that I will attend to now that I have extra money (plus I got a raise at work the same week I paid it off)

Valve lash
Replace cracked windshield
Fix door locks (the driver and passenger locks won't unlock with key from outside)
New wheels with TPMS sensors (took off steelies long ago but never had TPMS swapped or replaced a broken one)

Good feeling not to have car payments. Just don't get tempted by the new 2015's!!

Heck NO! I am NOT buying a brand new car ever again. My Fit is a boring auto, but I'm gonna keep it since it was the first "brand new" car I ever bought. Gonna put some money into my Civic (5 speed D16Z6 in an EF Sedan) to give it more daily driver duty and stop the mileage accumulation on the Fit.

Congratz!

I have an auto as well. It's not half as bad as other autos. You can actually feel the shifts (and that can be a good or a bad thing) but I enjoy it, gives it a sporty feel.

Guess I have a different line of thinking. I am going to see how many miles I CAN put on the Fit.

I've put the Fit through enough in the past six years. She deserves a break. She's been good to me. And if she could talk . . . the things she's seen . . .
