Voltage Issue, or Noise, or Not?

Voltage Issue, or Noise, or Not?
Got another quirky little issue to deal with, at some point anyway. When I'm running the heater and it switches on the whole car kinda skips a beat like; the lights dim a little for a second. Sounds minor I know but it's actually pretty annoying. The motor is also slightly affected as it gives a little lurch. Swapped the battery which helped a tiny bit but it's still noticeable... especially at lower rpm. New unit is a AutoCraft 151R.
Kinda gotta figure it's an electrical anomaly but I haven't a clue where to start. Heater works fine and will get plenty warm but it really bugs the crap out of me. I know it's a little car but I feel something is gotta be off. Less noticeable when the engine is more wound up but still there.
Any ideas? Like I said, brand new battery, and I haven't made any changes to the electrical, ignition, audio, etc. etc. everything is stock. No CEL or any obvious indications that something is broken. Was thinking maybe a bad ground but I haven't touched anything...

Yea I typically use the front defroster so maybe i'll just stick to using the heater once i'm warmed up. If I remember correctly it does the same thing when I run the A/C so makes sense if it's just the compressor. Still kinda bothers me but it's a sub compact so I guess it's to be expected.
