I recommend rally armor's. I also originally bought them for winter use but kept them on for rainy season also, does a great job at keeping water and gunk off the side of the car!

Hello. I've been considering rally armor mudflaps for the harsh Montreal winter, mainly to keep snow from packing into the rear bumper cover. However, I've heard some people rip them off when reversing. When parking in Montreal, you are dealing with huge mounds of packed snow. Are these mudflaps safe for winter or do I risk ripping them off when trying to get unstuck from a parking space?

Also, I've heard that the rear bracket requires drilling to install. How hard is it to install these straight? I'm kinda freaked about taking a drill to my beloved Fit.

you'd only be making 1 hole per front wheel well, and at most 2 or 3 for the back depending on where you want it positioned. these are plastic wheel wells that are replaceable and not the actually body panels themselves. in the front you can reuse 2 of the already existing holes for your clips/screws. back only has 1 reusable hole so drilling 2 extra is most likely needed though you could technically just drill 1 hole and use an L bracket and mount it that way but a little extra ingenuity is required. honestly dude it's $20 versus debris hitting/scuffing/scratching up the sides of your car depending on road conditions.

1 last thing, unless you have other people driving your car all the time it's pretty solid in terms of "flaps" you can also adjust the height you feel comfortable with before drilling (i suggest raising the back ones maybe 1-2" higher than fronts if you're that bothered by it). mine were ripped off just 1 time because dealership dumbasses treat customer cars like carnival rides.

Thanks for the input! Honestly, in snowy conditions, I do treat my car like a carnival ride In downtown Montreal, you don't really have much of a choice and I'm sure I'll red line it at least a couple times backing up and moving forward in first gear getting out of a snow bank. If I rip one out, I'll be up s*** creek because I don't do any maintenance on my car in winter (I do my last oil change in the autumn and I'm good 'till summer) so if I rip my liner, I'll have a hell of a time changing it quickly.

So I think I'll pass on this one but thanks for the advice

@JB: Is that pic of your Fit? I haven't been happy with most flaps for the GD Sport, but the pic looks great! Is there a Factory/Dealer option for something like this?

Excuse my ignorance but you stated earlier that yours are attached to the "rockers". What part are you referring to? Is it the side skirt part? I'm kinda weary about drilling holes into the body of the Fit especially since I'd like to remove them in the spring.

When you said holes in the plastic, did you mean the plastic of the flaps or the car's plastic (ABS) parts? If I can do this with not too much drilling I might go for it!
