Stalling when cold...

'07 Sport M/T, currently at ~98k
had ignition coil shudder issues since probably 70k, but ignored them for a long time. replaced all 4 coils this spring at 95k.

When starting the car after it's sat for a while (ie. first thing in the AM, at the end of the day at work), it runs and idles fine while parked and while my foot's on the gas. However, come up to that first stopsign, rpms at about 2000, off the gas, clutch in - and the revs fall (as expected) but don't stop and idle - it just dies.

Easily reproducible while "cold", but stops once the car has warmed up a bit.

First started happening last winter, about the same time I first researched and understood the coil pack issue. Was really bad then, not sure if because of the temperature or the bad coils. It's much better with the new coils, but still a problem.

Any ideas?

Very simple fix for this. Just look around a bit and find the other threads named just like yours. Then get your valves adjusted problem solved.

wait, so you're telling me there's a search function on this forum?!

thanks for the tip - valve adjustment is a much nicer (cheaper) fix than I was expecting.

maybe next time I ought to search...

No problem but the search function here and on most sites isn't all that great.

But if you copy our address and put it into google and add the words you are looking for you get some pretty good results.
