i know that i have a noisy gearbox,sounds like electric car when changing up through the gears,but i have another noise,when i turn the wheel slightly to the left and back,or when turning left corners slowly,i hear a sound as if oyu can hear dry ballbearings moving,i have check the driveshatfts and the only noise similar is in the diff. But as the noise is when i move the ateering wheel just a quarter to the left,i am wondering if it is due to the power streering motor,any one had the same noise.thanks

 

Could be the wheel bearings they have caused problems before. But it really sounds more like your CV joints on the axles how did you check them?

Which model do you have?

The early GDs in the UK had problems with transmission bearings and there is a special repair bulletin out on this problem and yours MAY be coverd under a special warranty for this problem.
