2008 Fit Sport RPM problems?

I have a 2008 Fit Sport MT with about 80k on her. It has been driving fine ever since i got it around a year ago and just yesterday i started to hear a strange noise when i accelerate. If i have the car in neutral and rev the engine up to about 2000-2500 rpm and let it drop it makes a really weird noise. I cant really explain what it is other than to me it kind of sounds like something is loose. Has this happened to anyone else or does anyone know how or what this might be? Let me know if you need more details about the situation, Thanks in advanced.

It's probably the heat shield over the exhaust manifold, you can reach it easily from the engine bay, toward the back of the engine. Or it could be the heat shield under the car - the one covering the catalytic converter. But it's probably the one over the exhaust manifold.

The 3 points where it attached to the exhaust manifold kinda deteriorate over time. There's this mesh that absorbs the vibrations, but that gets worn out and flattened so it's loose, and then the metal-on-metal rattles at a certain RPM range (resonation).

You can do a quick fix by just loosening and tightening the bolts. Or you can put some grease in the mesh to reduce the noise. Or you can try adding washers, whatever you want to reduce the vibration. I did it several times but the noise always eventually came back, then I finally bought a new heatshield for $30 or something, can't remember how much it was. Now the noise is gone but I won't be surprised if it comes back after another 90k miles.

Remove the heatshield and see if the noise is gone, then you'll know for sure if it's the culprit and decide what to do from there. That's how I did it.

I will give this a shot when i get off work :/ , in the mean time i went out and removed the wire attached to the battery powering my subs, i read that this could also be the problem by draining all the battery juice.
